Ysper gorge and druid rendezvous
The Ysper gorge is the most important natural spectacle in the southern Waldviertel. Water, wood and granite unite here in a thunderous natural spectacle! The River Ysper tumbles approximately 300 metres down into the valley over a distance of only two kilometres. From the safety of the walkways and bridges visitors can watch the water rushing down over the high rocks and through the narrow gorges. Mysterious spectacular stone formations of geomantic interest, for example, the “sitting dog”, “cave with passage” and “stone circle” (druid rendezvous) alternate with views over the Ysper Valley and the foothills of the Alps.
