Riegersburg Castle
This baroque castle, originally a fort surrounded by water, served as the representational seat of the Count of Khevenhüller, at that time governor of Lower Austria. The state apartments can be visited as well as the historical castle kitchen and a dog cemetery, a curiosity dating from the 19th century. The “Cafésalon Kaiserin- Maria-Theresia” coffee house with garden is situated beside the lake.
