The Quality Seal
The Quality Seal was created in 2007 by the Association for Quality Control for Hiking. Clear-cut quality criteria are laid down by which regions, hiking villages, walking trails, restaurants and accommodation can be tested and certified by experts. The qualification process involves a precise strengths and weaknesses analysis of the range of facilities available to walkers and hikers, with a clear-cut strategy for providing the infrastructure and network of hiking routes. When all relevant standards are met, the Austrian Quality Seal is awarded thus ensuring a reliable and qualitatively high standard in all aspects of this sport.
