Bründl mit Spielplatz Fronsburg
Ponds, lakes and springs
Description
The Fronsburger Bründl has been known as the "Heilsames Brintl zu Fronsburg" since 1727 and, according to legend, was once a popular place of pilgrimage. This spring was reputed to have great healing powers and a round chapel was built over it. It has probably been in ruins since the end of the 18th century.
The rentmaster Schinner of the lordship of Fronsburg attributed the healing of his eyes to this water, which drew the attention of the population back to the healing waters. Parish priest Heinrich Stamgasser had the chapel renovated and covered, whereupon it was consecrated on September 8, 1878 by Dean Anton Pilz in honour of the Nativity of Mary. Pilgrims have been coming to the Bründl ever since.
