A cross-border cycling route about women who have shaped the region with intuition and vision – through the northern Waldviertel and Czech Republic.

The Discoverers' Cycle Route is a circular cycling route and part of the regional cycling concept of the 6-Senses cycling rounds of the Zukunftsraum Thayaland.

This route combines nature, culture, and enjoyment into a special experience. Sometimes calm and idyllic, sometimes full of surprises – the Discoverers' Cycle Route takes you through impressive landscapes such as the forests of Česká Kanada, past charming towns and fascinating sights. Along the way, inspiring places invite you to pause, enjoy, and recharge.

Route description Discoverers' Cycle Route

Reingers - Stare Mesto (CZ) - Großtaxen - Brunn - Reibers - Waldkirchen - Dobersberg - Thaya - Peigarten - Pleßberg - Kautzen - Engelbrechts - Radschin - Leopoldsdorf - Reingers

Equipment

We recommend: helmet, suitable clothing and footwear, rain and sun protection, first aid kit (blister plasters), sufficient food supplies (snacks, muesli bars, fruit, water).

 

The Discoverers' Cycle Route is signposted and rideable in both directions.

Austria: 100 % asphalt

Czech Republic: 50 % gravel, 50 % asphalt (mountain bike or gravel bike required)
