Description
In Austria's 1st whisky distillery (since 1995) you can experience the fascination of whisky up close.
The original Waldviertel whisky J.H. is produced here. Feel it with all your senses during the daily guided tours with tasting (during opening hours in summer at 10.30 and 14.30 and in winter at 10.30, groups by appointment). You will learn all about whisky production in the whisky cinema, visit the production and storage facilities and can smell and taste malt.
Another highlight is the 7,000 m2 fire-water garden, which symbolises the four elements of whisky production, with the fire-water arena, the Celtic year and tree-of-life circle, as well as a Druid playground and a helipad. A "children's garden", our whisky shop and a whisky café with terrace complete the offer.
From February to December, special tastings are offered on fixed dates (every Friday at 2.30 pm). During the rest of the year on request (min. 10 people).
There is also a large whisky tasting in the large whisky warehouse of the Whisky Experience World. This takes place regularly on fixed dates (every 1st Saturday of the month during the summer months / every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month during the winter months). During the rest of the year on request (min. 10 people).
In 2015, the Whisky Experience World was awarded the Lower Austrian Tourism Prize.
The Whisky Experience World is one of the "top excursion destinations" of the province of Lower Austria and is also a member of the AWA (Austrian Whisky Association).

- Summer season (from 01.05.): at 10.30 a.m. and at 2.30 p.m.
- Winter season (from 01.11.): at 2.30 p.m.
