Details for: Cross-country skiing on the Nordwald trails Karlstift/Bad Großpertholz - Teich trail
Brief description
Between the towns of Karlstift and Liebenau is the famous raised bog "Große Heide" where cross-country skiers will find a network of varied trails. Almost everywhere there is a double track as well as a skating track.
Description
Cross-country skiing is considered a healthy exercise as it involves joint-friendly movements. Whether recreational cross-country skiers or hobby athletes, there is something suitable for everyone here. The start and finish are located at the sports field, where you can also park your car. Other entry points are at Gasthaus Zeller and the Aichelberglifts, where parking is also available. For beginners, the easy meadow trail (2 km) is ideal as an entry trail – it is prepared for both classic (C) and skating (S) styles. Those who have little time during the day can also use it in the evening as a floodlit trail until 10 pm. The Teich trail (7 km / C+S) and the Trift trail (8 km / C) also invite you to pause and enjoy nature around the Stierhübl pond. Additionally, the high plateau is accessible via connecting trails to Siebenhöf (9 km) and Liebenau (12 km). Nordic cruisers as well as sporty amateurs are catered for here, as these trails connect with other trail areas of Aktivwelt Freiwald.
