Echsenbach
Description
Welcome to Echsenbach!
The market town of Echsenbach is nestled amidst idyllic forests, meadows and fields. The charming surroundings, which are so typical of the Waldviertel, invite active sports enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike to stay in Echsenbach.
Whether gastronomy, culture, clubs, entertainment, leisure, sport or a place to live - Echsenbach has something for everyone: Two family-friendly hiking trails invite you to explore the area around Echsenbach. The starting point is at the Schnaps-Glas-Museum. The leisure facility with the "Teichzeit" restaurant and sun terrace, swimming pond, sunbathing lawn, playground and beach volleyball court offers fun and relaxation for young and old in summer.
A very special excursion destination in Echsenbach is Austria's first schnapps glass museum. Over 1,200 schnapps glasses from the collector Harald Rath, successor to the famous Lobmeyr company from Vienna, as well as the "De Zwaan" glass mold collection with around 1,500 pieces can be viewed here. Waldviertel schnapps can be tasted and purchased in the museum's cellar. An extensive museum store and a display glassworks in the foyer of the municipal office round off the offer. The museum is also one of the Lower Austria Card's Excursion destinations.
Another highlight in the immediate vicinity is the KnödelLand cycle path of the small region "Herz des Wald4tels", which cleverly combines cycling and culinary delights. After an extensive cycle tour, KnödelLand host Josef Klang invites you to enjoy and linger. Along the KnödelLand cycle path, it is also possible to change to other cycle paths, such as the Thayarunde or the Kamp-Thaya-March top cycle route.
See for yourself, Echsenbach has something to offer for everyone, even "Echsi", the well-known mascot, thinks so!
