Route description Hiking trail "Pfad"
From the Wackelstein parking lot, the path goes along Wackelsteinstraße towards the town center. At the community center, Wackelsteinstraße merges into Hauptstraße; here you keep right and after 100 m turn right again into Moorgasse. Walk along the paved Moorgasse to the intersection with Hartbergstraße. Here, the hiking trail leads right into Hartbergstraße up to the forest entrance. At the forest entrance, keep left, pass the barrier, and follow the marked path visible in nature to Wasserstein, where the first information board is located. Immediately next to Wasserstein, the path leads right over a wooden bridge.
From here you are in the Natura 2000 area "Haslauer Moor." After about 100 m on a narrow path with wooden planks, the trail turns left into the forest, along the outer edge of the moor to the first platform. From here, you move again in the moor area on a path partially secured with wooden planks. The path takes you past two more platforms built into the moor. Here you have a very beautiful and unobstructed view of the Natura 2000 area. After the third platform, the path turns left through the forest, past the ponds, to the lower Moorgasse. Just after exiting the forest, the path turns sharply right over a meadow path, past a residential house, and continues on a farm road to Berggasse. Here, the path turns left onto the paved Berggasse and after about 120 m turns right onto Hauptstraße. You now follow Hauptstraße; after about 300 m there is a small park on the left side, where Mittelstraße branches off to the left. Follow Mittelstraße to the intersection with Fichtenweg. Here, the path turns right into Fichtenweg and after 50 m left again onto a farm driveway. After 100 m you reach the farm; walk through and then turn sharply left. The path leads on a forest path, past a large EVN lattice mast, back to Mittelstraße. Turn right onto Mittelstraße and walk along Mittelstraße to Hauptstraße.
Turn right onto Hauptstraße (cross the street and continue on the sidewalk), past a stone cross to the playground in Aalfang. (From here, you could also start the path.) At the playground, cross Ringstraße and continue along Hauptstraße. After about 100 m, on the right side of the street, takes off a trail; follow it over a bridge with wooden railing straight to a residential house. The path passes the house on the left to the train station. At the station, you must cross the tracks and walk about 30 m to the right on the unpaved path to the street. Turn sharply left onto the street and follow it to the natural monument Striezel and Scherzel. After a few meters, a forest path turns sharply left; follow it to the bridge you came from. Arriving at Hauptstraße, turn right and after about 30 m cross the street again and turn left onto the private path. Following the path, in the rear section after a right curve, a house is on the right side. Here the path turns left into the forest again. After about 300 m, the direction arrow points half-right across the meadow. Now follow the arrow 30 m across the meadow to the paved Ringstraße. Keep right on Ringstraße, walk along the street until on the left side a gravel path turns left. Follow this path to the Fischerhütte and the quarry. After the quarry turn left and follow the forest path until you reach Ringstraße again.
In the last meters, the path, a public way, is bordered on both sides by one house each. Arriving at Ringstraße, keep right and follow Ringstraße about 200 m to the intersection with Feldgasse. Turn right into Feldgasse and after about 100 m again right into a private path. From here, walk along the private path past the house. The path turns into a forest path and you walk straight ahead along the forest edge until you reach the Wackelstein parking lot again.
