Hike from Zöbing to the observation tower on the "Rieslingberg" Heiligenstein.
Description
The 351-meter-high Heiligenstein, world-famous for its Rieslings, is easily accessible from Zöbing. The route leads through deciduous mixed forests and vineyard terraces. Once at the top, the historic Kamptalwarte offers a magnificent view over Zöbing, Langenlois, and the lower Kamptal to the Danube valley. On clear days, even the peaks of Schneeberg and Ötscher are visible on the horizon.

Route description Hiking trail to the Kamptalwarte at Heiligenstein
From the Heiligenstein car park heading southeast to the cellar lane at Heiligenstein. At the first cellars, keep slightly left and follow the path uphill for about 400 m. At a small car park, turn right and follow the flat path for about 200 m. Here a trail branches off to the left, leading 600 m uphill. At the fork, turn right and follow the now flatter trail for about 300 m to the Kamptalwarte. Return via the same route.
Directions
From Vienna: Danube Bank Motorway A22 towards Stockerau, then continue on the S5 towards Krems to the Fels am Wagram exit and on the B34 to Zöbing.
From the west: West Motorway A1 towards Vienna to St. Pölten, then continue on the S33 and B37 to Krems and on the B218 to Langenlois and further on the B34 to Zöbing.

In Zöbing at the Heiligenstein car park.
Regular regional train connections between Zöbing and Hadersdorf (connection to Vienna), Krems, and the Kamptal (fahrplan.oebb.at).
Author's tip
The key to the tower is available at the Gutmann inn in Zöbing as well as at the Ursin Haus and the Fiakerwirt in Langenlois.
At the end of the hike, stop by one of the Heurigen in the cellar lane at Heiligenstein or in Zöbing.
