Route description Teddybear Trail Lohnbachfall

The path to Lohnbachfall is well marked (also by the paw print signs). At the waterfall itself, you often can no longer see the water, but it is always audible. You walk through the part designated as a natural monument and pass the Steinerne Stube. Once you reach the top, the Lohnbach calms down again and you cross it via the Zellersteg (old pilgrim route to Mariazell). Here you leave the route of the Great Bärentrail and turn uphill following the Teddybärentrail signs towards the Steinernes Bründl. This is a hollow stone that is always filled with water. Such natural phenomena of course leave room for legends such as: a sip of it for immortality, a drop of dragon's blood, a footprint of the Virgin Mary – there's no limit to imagination here (choose something that suits you, tell no one, turn three times around your own axis and believe firmly in it!). Shortly before the village of Lohn, you turn left and have a beautiful view of the landscape. Over meadows, fields, and finally a piece of a farm road you reach the starting point again, the parking lot at the Sculpture Park.

Feature: Waterfall! Therefore a path made for hot days.

Safety information

The waterfall lies in a romantic forest gorge and requires a bit of sure-footedness. Well-anchored handrails and stairs offer safety here, and if here big small, brave cowardly and young old help, then you also get team building on the side for free (or just family building).

Author's tip

A visit to the animal protection project BÄRENWALD Arbesbach can be easily combined with this short hike as a day trip (tip also for dog owners!).
