Weingut Retzl
Description
Paul Retzl followed in the footsteps of his father Erwin and has been running the traditional Zöbinger winery since 2019. He has been responsible for the vinification of the wines for the past few years. In Retzl's wine cellar at the foot of the Zöbinger Heiligenstein, fresh white wines typical of the region are currently maturing in the renovated vaulted cellar and some of the oldest bottles in Austria, wines dating back to 1903, are still slumbering in the wine cellar, which is well worth seeing.
The winemaker takes great pleasure in cultivating the family's own vineyards in the best locations in the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German). These include the vineyards Zöbinger Kogelberg, Zöbinger Pfaffenberg, Kammerner Lamm and the parade vineyard Zöbinger Heiligenstein.
In addition to the two leading varieties, Grüne Veltliner and Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Roter Traminer and Zweigelt complete the range.
