Weingut Sax

Description

The special climate and unique soil of the Kamp Valley ("Kamptal" in German) are the ideal basis for unique, world-class wines, which are high-ranking and fruit-intensive thanks to the many hours of sunshine and cool nights. We have passed on this knowledge from generation to generation and developed our own style as a result. We proudly look back on a long tradition in viticulture: the Sax name has been deeply rooted in the region for centuries and today stands for excellent wines from the best vineyards. The Sax family has also been dedicated to viticulture since 1660 and operated vineyards in Lengenfeld until the mid-1950s. During the centuries of history, one thing has never changed: We stand for the passion to press varietal, vintage and regionally typical wines. Since 2008, the sons Rudolf Jun. and Michael have taken over the parental business from Ernestine and Rudolf. At the age of 18, the winemaking twins created their own Burgundy style "Saxess" and have since skillfully combined modern techniques with an awareness of tradition. "As the sons of winegrowers, we were born into viticulture. It was probably no coincidence that a vineyard was planted on the day we were born, which has borne the name Zwillingslauser ever since," say the two young winemakers, explaining their deep connection to viticulture.
