Papiermühle Mörzinger
Handicraft
Description
In a paper mill from the 18th century, Siegfried and Margarethe Mörzinger create the finest handmade paper in the old tradition.
In Bad Großpertholz, directly on the Lainsitz, there is a paper mill dating back to 1789, now the only one of its kind in Europe. Today, Siegfried and Margarethe Mörzinger produce valuable handmade paper from pure cotton rags. Just as their predecessors did well over 200 years ago. "High-quality handmade paper is increasingly being used again as the basis for documents and watercolors," says Siegfried Mörzinger happily. The exquisite cards, cards, writing sets, business cards and more are sold in the in-house store. Or you can try your hand at it yourself: Visitors can immerse themselves in the art of papermaking and are right in the middle of it when the cotton waste is mixed with water and ground in the "Holländer". It is scooped, couched and pressed. "Every visitor to the experience tour can make their own sheet of paper and then enjoy a snack in the Mühlenstüberl," invites Siegfried Mörzinger.
