The Square of the Scorpion near Engelbrechts in Kautzen in the northern Waldviertel is a fascinating place of power that attracts visitors with its special energy. The impressive stone ensemble is arranged in such a way that it reflects the constellation of Scorpio in the sky. The bizarre granite stones with indentations, lines and natural pools of water - the so-called sacrificial bowls - create a mysterious, intense atmosphere. Even without any spiritual interest, the place offers a unique natural experience.

The water basins fill up again and again in a natural way and have never been able to dry out. This is scientifically explained by chemical weathering processes that slowly enlarge the pools. Several paths lead to this place of power: the 15 km long stone circular hiking trail and hiking trails no. 1 and no. 4 start from Kautzen.

Many stones bear names and are associated with legends. The Warzenbründl is said to heal warts, the Herrgottsstein helps against eye problems. The right scissors of the scorpion were discovered by measuring a star, the serpent's head shows charging and discharging energy, and the apostle stones are reminiscent of the twelve disciples of Jesus. The energy stone in particular has a measurable charge of energy on the sunrise side.
