A place full of energy and secrets: The Place of the Scorpion at Engelbrechts near Kautzen is one of the most famous power spots in the northern Waldviertel. Huge stones are arranged here in the shape of the astrological constellation of Scorpio - a mystical ensemble that has always fascinated visitors.

The place is regarded as a spiritual meeting place with a special aura. Even those who have nothing to do with spirituality will have a unique experience of nature here. The stones have unusual shapes, indentations and so-called "sacrificial bowls" - natural pools of water that never dry out. Despite numerous attempts, the water is always present, which adds to the mysterious reputation of the place.

Many stones have their own names and legends:

• Warzenbründl - its water is said to heal warts.
• Scorpion's right claw - only discovered when a star was measured.
• Herrgottsstein - the main stone, whose shell water is said to help against eye problems.
• Snake's head - diviners report energy flows.
• Apostle stones - notches are reminiscent of seats for the twelve disciples.
• Sacrificial stone - with a blood channel in the direction of the sunrise.
• Energy stone - energy radiation can only be measured on its eastern side.

If you would like to visit the site, you can reach it on foot via the 15 km long circular stone hiking trail or via trails no. 1 and no. 4, which all start in Kautzen.
