Description
From the Schenkkreuz, which is located at the beginning of Weitersfeld, you have a wonderful view of Weitersfeld and the imposing parish church, which is enthroned on the Kirchenberg. There is also a bench with an eagle's head carved by the Weitersfeld chainsaw woodcarver, Johannes Aschenbrenner. According to legend, the Schenkkreuz was erected following an accident in which a man was almost crushed by his wine barrels while transporting them.
