Skultpur "Riesenbohne"

Description

The walk-in giant bean designed by artist Andrea Brunner-Fohrafellner illustrates the potential for growth and the "transformation from seed to plant to seed" in a memorable way.

If you go inside the bean, you can imagine how new life emerges from a seedling. To perceive oneself as a seed, analogous to the embryo that will soon see the light of day, under the protection of the (still) surrounding shell. Beans or seeds can retain their ability to germinate for a long time. The colors used in the painting of the artwork really exist as bean colors, but can also be interpreted as the different skin colors of people working together to grow a peaceful world.

But the bean is much more: a symbol of diversity and a plea for unity in this diversity. A QR code or NFC inside the sculpture can be used to call up an animated film that focuses on this "High Potential in Growth".

The artwork was created as part of the "Garden Summer Lower Austria 2021".
