Theaterbühne Arbesbach
Theatre
Description
In 2024, Theaterbühne Arbesbach presents "The highly lamentable and completely unknown marriage tragedy of Romeo and Juliet - No death, no happy ending" by Michael Niavarani.
How different? Different from other amateur theaters in the Waldviertel? Definitely! Over the last few decades, the Arbesbach Theaterbühne has established itself as an annual cultural highlight in the region, starting out as a small stage with farmer's jokes. In the middle of the Waldviertel highlands, we offer our audience literary classics of various genres every year - we make theater that makes you laugh, cry and think. With a dedicated ensemble of actors aged between 10 and 70 and a specially created and constructed stage set, we never cease to amaze our audiences.
Thanks to the costly investments in stage technology and acoustics, as well as the unique performance of the acting ensemble, we have been able to welcome more than 32,000 visitors to our venue, the Schönfeldhalle near the Kolm restaurant, in recent years.
Our projects in recent years include well-known works such as "Der Bockerer", "Geschichten aus dem Wienerwald", "Pension Schöller", "Don Camillo und Peppone" and "In 80 Tagen um die Welt". When selecting plays, we focus on well-known literary classics.
We combine culture and entertainment at a high level in the Waldviertel highlands. To ensure that this remains the case in the future, we focus heavily on promoting young talent. In 2016, the "Junge Theaterbühne Arbesbach" was founded to get young people from the region interested in theater. The classic children's book "Max and Moritz" by Wilhelm Busch and the musical "A Week Full of SAMStages" by Paul Maar sparked a passion for theater in many young people.
