Wanderregion Südliches Waldviertel

Description

The Southern Waldviertel hiking region has a charming southern flair thanks to its proximity to the Danube. Small and medium differences in altitude are essential for real summit experiences. In many places, the Ysper Weitental valley looks like an oversized viewing terrace. The view stretches as far as the Alps - and deep into your own country. Thousand-metre-high mountains, mighty granite rocks, small villages, bright valleys and narrow gorges characterize the picture. The Ysperklamm gorge is one of the most famous natural monuments in the Waldviertel. Cultural sights: Leiben Castle, the unique and curious Valley of Sundials, Pöggstall Castle and lovingly designed museums complement the natural experience.
