Nordwaldhof
Tavern / innThis business is excellent…
Description
It's no longer a secret: to get to know the country and its people better and satisfy your hunger at the same time, it's worth visiting the Lower Austrian tavern culture. The effective green quality sign also adorns the façade of the Nordwaldhof in Bad Großpertholz. This typical local inn in the district of Gmünd is run by Helga and Thomas Bauer. A well-rehearsed duo - both in and out of the kitchen. The history of the establishment goes back a long way: the Nordwaldhof was first mentioned in a document over 200 years ago. From the very beginning, the inn has operated on two tracks. Pork, veal and beef, ham, smoked meat and sausage specialties are expertly processed in the certified butcher's shop and are served on the inn's plate.
A ray of hope in the far north
The charmingly and traditionally furnished Nordwaldhof skillfully brings out the best of the Waldviertel. The "Flecksuppe" soup, meat loaf and homemade liver, fried or blood sausage with sauerkraut and potatoes have a sensational reputation. The recommendations from the kitchen are hard to resist. This also applies to the lamb and game specialty weeks. The "Erpfigerichte" section of the menu attracts a lot of attention, especially the Waldviertler Edelhopfen-Schmankerl in a potato coating. A warm coleslaw is served as a side dish.
The morning pint takes place every Sunday at the Nordwaldhof. Comfortable guest rooms are available.
