The vacation home
The Bärenhütte (75 m2) with a pure living area of 65 m2 is a stable small log cabin with floors, walls and a ceiling made of untreated spruce and larch wood and wood-aluminum windows.
2 bedrooms: 1 small bedroom with 2 single beds with spacious built-in wardrobe, 1 small bedroom with double beds with spacious built-in wardrobe.
Living room with integrated kitchen: 1 large living room: 1 double sofa bed, 2 couch stools, 1 glass coffee table, 1 flat screen TV, digital radio, WLAN, 1 TV chair, central tiled stove with benches, dining table for 6 people.
Kitchen fully equipped with crockery, glasses, cutlery and all necessary kitchen utensils, ceramic hob electric stove with oven, dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso machine, toaster.
1 small bathroom/WC: shower, washbasin and shelves, fixed hairdryer

Log cabin location and surroundings
The log cabin on a single south-facing slope on the edge of the forest is located approx. 1 km outside of 3665 Bärnkopf - surrounded by a 2,200 m2 meadow.
In summer, the Bärenhütte is the ideal starting point for hiking, fishing, swimming, tennis, horseback riding, mushroom hunting and pure enjoyment of nature. The Schlesinger pond (swimming - sunbathing lawn, children's paddling pool, snack huts, fishing, beach volleyball) is just a few minutes' drive away.
One of the many cross-country ski trails runs along our property boundary in winter and also connects our log cabin with the village center and an extensive network of trails. Guided snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides are available. We invite you to a nature/romantic vacation for up to 4 people (6 people on request).
The climatic health resort Bärnkopf
is located in the center of the largest closed forest area in Austria and is the highest place in the Waldviertel at 1000 m above sea level. The hospitable village (350 inhabitants) is nestled in a magnificent forest and lake landscape, which is often affectionately referred to as "Little Canada". It is an Eldorado for hikers, fishermen, mushroom pickers and other nature lovers in summer. In winter, Bärnkopf is known for its extensive network of cross-country ski trails, organized snowshoe hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
Inns in the surrounding area invite you to linger. You will experience tasty home cooking, comfortably furnished guest rooms and a pleasant stay with hospitable people. A grocery store run by the village community offers everyday necessities. Bicycle and cross-country ski rental. Tennis courts, curling, horse riding, guided hikes and snowshoe hikes, wood chopping museum, bread baking, doll museum.
