Our 1000Kraut mountain hut offers families and friends an ideal place to relax, enjoy and unwind. The mountain hut extends directly into the spacious garden, where there is a fire pit and swimming pond.

Built in spring 2023, the mountain hut was built right on the edge of the forest at the highest elevation in the southern Waldviertel and conveys a cozy atmosphere, which is further enhanced by the nostalgic interior design of the house.

The wooden bunk beds for a good night's sleep, which can accommodate a total of 4 people, the sideboard decorated with carvings and the crackling wood-burning stove, which can also be used for cooking, round off the inviting and pleasant atmosphere.

The early morning hours can be enjoyed on the terrace of the wooden hut, adorned by the chirping of the birds and the first rays of sunshine falling on the hut and the faces of the vacation guests. In the garden you will be greeted by our free-roaming animals - four cats, our dog Bobby, our hens, cockerels and ducks.

The clubhouse was built as an extension to the vacation apartment built in 2015 and is the ideal place to stay for holidaymakers who want to experience the untouched beauty of nature in all its glory during their stay. The wooden house is also a perfect place to stay for hikers, as an intermediate stage of the Lebensweg, a 260 km long-distance hiking trail that passes right by us. We at the 100Krauthof are partners of the Lebensweg and are always happy to welcome hikers.

Just as nature is always changing, the 1000Krauthof also changes from time to time and now offers an opportunity for a vacation with the character of a mountain hut and a crackling fire in the background. Our tepee has now been replaced by a wooden house that combines nostalgia and comfort and is open to all vacationers, hikers and seminar guests who feel addressed by a regenerating and relaxing time in the southern Waldviertel, at the 1000Krauthof.

This is what makes the 100Krauthaus special:
There is no running drinking water inside the house, but there is a washbasin outside the house where you can quench your thirst with fresh Ostrong spring water and do a "cat wash".
As in the past, the toilet is located outside the house.
In front of the house you will find an outdoor granite trough with a hand pump.
The house is heated by a crackling wood-burning stove, which can also be used for cooking. There is also a small electric hob, kettle, coffee machine and all the crockery you need for cooking, as well as a fridge.

Below the mountain hut there is a fireplace in our garden where you can barbecue on an open fire and enjoy the starry nights in a cozy atmosphere. Firewood for the fireplace and for the wood-burning stove in the 1000Kraut mountain hut is available from us at a price of €13 per basket.

Please note that at this time of year, depending on the weather conditions (from around the beginning of November to around the end of March), the fountain directly in front of the mountain hut and the washing area right next to the mountain hut cannot be used as the water supply pipes are turned off as they would otherwise freeze up. This means that no running water is available inside or outside the mountain hut. At this time of year we provide our guests with free drinking water.

Smoking is not permitted inside the mountain hut. Smoking is permitted outside and ashtrays are provided.
