The typical Waldviertel three-sided farm is located on a hill, surrounded by greenery and yet easily accessible, approx. 1 km outside Rastenfeld. The farm has been owned by the Hofbauer family for four generations and has been lovingly maintained and extended on an ongoing basis. The farm was run as a dairy and arable farm until 2006, after which it continued as a part-time arable farm without livestock. In the most recent development, the Hofbauer family has now dared to expand the farm into a tourism and guest farm and they want to continuously expand their offerings in this direction. Products from their own farm, the cultivation of tradition and customs, as well as the refinement of regional agricultural products are the main focus.

Where the old hay barn once stood, a new guest house made of solid wood was built in 2022. Care was taken during construction to use wood from the region and, thanks to the spruce native to the Waldviertel, the rooms have a pleasant and calming indoor climate.

Modern and comfortable living has top priority here. You are welcome to enjoy the homemade specialties and regional delicacies at the breakfast buffet. Our region invites you to enjoy nature, whether you want to go for a walk, hike or cycle, at the Hofbauer-Hof everyone gets their money's worth. The nearby Ottenstein reservoir also invites you to go boating or swimming.
