Newsletter

Subscription to Waldviertel Newsletter or Waldviertel Partner-Newsletter

On our website, you can subscribe to our company’s newsletter. In it, we inform our customers and business partners at regular intervals about our company’s range of products and services. For you to obtain a subscription, we need you to give us a valid e-mail address as well as information that lets us verify that you are the owner of the indicated e-mail address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected or collected only on a voluntary basis. For legal reasons, a confirmation e-mail is sent in a double opt-in procedure to the e-mail address you as data subject entered for the first time in order to be sent the newsletter. We use this data solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter and do not disclose it to third parties. Art. 6(1) GDPR is the legal basis for the collection and processing of data.

During newsletter registration, we also store the IP address assigned by the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to the computer system used by you as data subject at the time of registration as well as the date and time of the registration. This data needs to be collected, so we can reconstruct the (possible) misuse of the e-mail address of a data subject at a later time. It therefore serves as a safeguard for us.

You are entitled at any time to withdraw the consent you gave for the storage of the data and the e-mail address and for their use for the purpose of sending the newsletter, for instance by using the newsletter cancellation (“Newsletter-Abmeldung”) link in each newsletter. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail at any time to newsletter@waldviertel.at to let us know you want to cancel the newsletter. The lawfulness of any data processing procedures already undertaken remains unaffected by your withdrawal of consent.

The data you deposited with us to obtain the newsletter will be stored with us until your removal from the list for the newsletter and deleted by us after you cancel your newsletter subscription.

Newsletter tracking

The newsletter contains what are called tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a miniature image embedded in e-mails sent in HTML format in order to enable a log file to be recorded and analyzed. It allows a statistical analysis to be conducted on the success or failure of online marketing campaigns. With the embedded tracking pixel, we can detect whether a data subject has opened an e-mail and if so when as well as which links in the e-mail the data subject has clicked on.

To safeguard our legitimate interests, we save and analyze data collected with tracking pixels contained in the newsletters to optimize the sending of the newsletter and to tailor the content of future newsletters more closely to the interests of the data subject. Art. 6(1) GDPR is the legal basis for this practice. This personal data is not disclosed to third parties. Data subjects are entitled at any time to withdraw the separate consent for this that they gave in the double opt-in procedure. Following a withdrawal of consent, this personal data is deleted by the controller responsible for processing. A cancellation of the newsletter subscription is deemed an automatic withdrawal of consent.
