Hiking tour Starting from Zwettl Main Square
No. 55a
The path is just under 12 km long and can be walked in 3.5 hours.
The path starts at Zwettl’s Main Square, where the fountain designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser is especially charming. The path ends in Roiten, where Hundertwasser designed the village museum. He lived for years in the nearby "old chicken sawmill" and created numerous new works there. A visit to the village museum is highly recommended.
Along the route, 13 display boards designed by photographer Günter Schön invite you to an encounter with interesting photographic results and the deciphering of water secrets. The graphic design of the boards pays attention to thematic alignment and perfect harmony with their respective locations.
This hike offers a wonderful natural experience with idyllic river valleys, impressive rock formations, green forests, and natural meadows for a perfect break in the Waldviertel region.
