Quiet forests and idyllic landscapes characterize the stage Droß – Senftenberg. Especially nature lovers seeking peace can wonderfully unwind here and enjoy the scenery.
Description
The stage from Droß to Senftenberg passes through breathtaking landscapes. Walking through picturesque forest and meadow sections, you experience a uniquely "grounding" break. Even at the starting point of the route, a first stop is worthwhile. Here, the Fatima pilgrimage church, Droß Castle, and the castle chapel St. Georg rise and invite exploration. Afterwards, you continue through quiet nature to the Poberkreuz, where the Kremstal-Donau long-distance trail can be shortened towards Senftenberg. Once at the destination, a trip to the fortified church St. Andreas or the Senftenberg castle ruins is also worthwhile. From there, a breathtaking view of the surrounding vineyard terraces opens up. Thus, the nature-oriented hike can be pleasantly rounded off with a view into the greenery.

Author's tip
High above the village, the Senftenberg Castle Ruins tower in the Kremstal valley. It is the emblem of the idyllic wine village of the same name and offers a magnificent view of the vineyard terraces where the typical Urgesteinsriesling grows. There is much to explore at the castle ruins, and many stories surround the centuries-old structure.
