With a variety of climbing aids, stairs, stone steps, and bridges, the Ysperklamm is a top excursion destination for the whole family. In 2017, the Ysperklamm was the Lower Austria state winner in the ORF show "9 Places – 9 Treasures" and achieved an excellent 3rd place nationwide in Austria.
The Ysperklamm is a natural monument. This wild romantic gorge is a beautiful interplay of the elements wood, stone, and water. The Große Ysper, which originates in the Weinsberger Forest, flows through the gorge over a length of 2 km, overcoming about 300 meters in altitude. In the lower part, riverbank woodpile structures ("Steinschlacht") remind us of timber rafting from earlier times. The "Rote Reithbrücke" in the middle of the gorge also allows a slight descent at intervals. The upper part is characterized by the narrow gorge, many climbing aids, and the impressive waterfalls up to the "Ödteich".
