Description
If you are looking for an extravagant taste experience, you will find it in Vitis in the northern Waldviertel. Host and award-winning chef Oswald Topf has been offering local gourmet cuisine with a strong French twist since 2006. In the multi-award-winning Landgasthaus zum Topf, an extremely enjoyable balancing act between national and international cuisine is achieved. The products used are primarily organically grown. The signature of the experienced chef and patron is evident in his own creations, such as duck consommé with duck liver dumplings, baked crayfish tascherln and saltimbocca of rabbit saddle. The Burgundy roast beef with Waldviertel potato dumplings and cranberry pear is regional, powerful and intense.
Country inn with a culinary vision
It is difficult to categorize the Landgasthaus zum Topf. The "Roter Salon" is furnished in an elegant classical style - reminiscent of a Renaissance court dining room. A more than worthy interior for a gourmet restaurant. The Jagdstüberl has the typical tavern character with its bar area and regulars' table. The six-course gourmet menu takes you on a culinary journey. The wine tastings are also popular. When it comes to desserts, you can't go past the potato and poppy seed cake. This is made according to an old family recipe and served with homemade sour cream ice cream.
