Nicki's Restaurant & Wirtshaus
RestaurantThis business is excellent…
Description
The entrance area of Nicki's Wirtshaus is adorned with a very vividly restored goods wagon loaded with stones, reminiscent of earlier times. Time seems to stand still for a moment. In the rustic vaulted cellar, the pride and joy of landlord Fritz Semper, things are also leisurely for the time being. A large selection of Lower Austria's wine treasures are stored here. This atmospheric sandstone and brick vaulted cellar is also a great place to celebrate in an exclusive setting and philosophize about the fine grape varieties. One floor up, the down-to-earth pub cuisine is a delight. The food is cooked according to old values and traditions. The Steckerlfisch is a culinary specialty and the grilled pork medallions wrapped in bacon on a wild garlic cream sauce are a classic. Homemade potato pancakes are served as a side dish.
Traditional restaurant in the Waldviertel
Nicki's Wirtshaus has been one of the Waldviertel's culinary ambassadors for more than 30 years. The inn in Gmünd is committed to regionality and seasonality. And it has some positive surprises in store: in addition to the classic bar area, the Stüberl, restaurant and winter garden, guests can enjoy a wine bar that exudes Heurigen flair. Traditional coffee specialties, homemade cakes and strudel are served in the separate "café area". The service staff are highly trained and always on the ball. If you want to discover the Waldviertel not only from a culinary point of view, a trip on the historic Waldviertel Railway is well worthwhile.
