Nordwald Nature Park

A nature park with Nordic Scandinavian character

This 750 hectare nature park is situated between Bad Großpertholz and Karlstift to the west of the Waldviertel on the border to the Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria.

The area got its name from the wide-ranging evergreen forests and moorlands, reminiscent of the vast areas of forest to be found in northern Europe.

Discover how timber is used to make paper: lumberjack museum, demonstration channel for drifting timber, timber rafting, paper mill, paper manufacture and DIY paper-making.

The Nordwald Nature Park is a natural paradise just waiting to be discovered: observation tower, playground, exhibition of fungi, barbeque site, Stierhübel pond, recreation area etc.
